Anyways, when I asked Alohi want she wanted to dress up as it was no surprise to me. She wanted to be a princess. I had originally planned on her being a Princess Tiana and Po'okela as the Gator Louie. Rylan and I thought we could be the frogs (when Tiana and Prince Navid are frogs). However with limited resources, lack of ambition, and well I just got lazy it didn't happen. Plus, Alohi wanted to be Cinderella. I was completely ok with this because I found her old shark costume and knew it would fit Po'okela. A little bit, but it worked.
What Alohi didn't know what I had held back some of her princess stuff that would make her outfit even more perfect!! Thankfully we got to do a practice run with the Library Time trick-or-treating that happened the thursday before Halloween. Alohi's friend Carter was a police man. Alohi is in her princess gold cape. I still remember the gasp of the people already awaiting for library time to start when she walked in.
Well some things we changed for Halloween was, instead of the gold side of the cape she wore just the white and she used her sliver gloves instead of her gold. She was so happy when I put make up on her! However she wasn't too happy about the hairspray I added to keep her hair in place because I knew she would be doing running around at the Pumpkin Carnival! Here is Cinderella Alohi!!
This is my absolute favorite of her!!!
Once she got done getting dressed and adding her light up heels, I started to get Po'okela dressed. Thankfully, his shark costume was much easier! All I had to do was put him in a hoodie and change his pants! Here's my little jaws!! (the costume was so appropriate for how much he has been teething these last couple of weeks!)
Yes he popped this... with his teeth.
Here is the best picture I got of the both of them together. I am not sure what they are doing, but it was the best. I promise!
We headed to church a little early because I had helped make some pumpkin frames for all the kids coming and needed to get the magnet hot glued on before the carnival started. Plus, Central has dinner every wednesday evening so we didn't have to think about dinner. We had beef enchilada casserole. YUM! Po'okela ate it right up and Alohi didn't. Then we headed back to the gym for the festivities!
Alohi waiting just outside the gym with all the girls.
Before all the kids got to go play games, Autumn read them a pumpkin book that held examples of how we ca be Christlike to everyone during this season. My favorite part was the jack-o-lantern's light is how God whats His light to be shining in us! I am so happy with how Autumn always ties Godly things to the holidays celebrated!
While Alohi went with friends to play all the games (ring toss on the pumpkin, pumpkin fishing, pumpkin popcorn ball walk, golf, bowling, lollipop pull, balloon darts, etc...) I took Po'okela around to watch and then he hung out with his friend Brady. I did pass him off to some friends so I could go with Alohi to play different games and I forgot to take pictures! However, I am all for this to take place of halloween trick-or-treating! I was able to visit with friends inside a warm gym, Alohi got all her energy running around playing games while still getting treats, Po'okela was happy because he got to crawl around and we all still got a bunch of candy! So I am glad we had the carnival!!
However, we stayed out much longer than we would have had we gone trick-or-treating and I did a horrible job monitoring how much candy each kid got (especially since Alohi didn't eat her dinner). When Rylan and I got home we started to count up how much candy they each had...

Po'okela - 6
Alohi - 2
I am not sure how Po'okela got to eat so much, but he sure does know what candy is now!!
Happy Halloween everyone!! Up next... Thanksgiving... Then Christmas in HAWAII!!!
