How to dye your own rice…

Things needed…
  • rice (not sure how much exactly because I have a 10lb bag of rice that I just scooped out)
  • gallon sized ziplock bags (number depends on the number of different colors)
  • food coloring
  • rubbing alcohol
  • container to store rice
  • different toys to play in rice
Okay, first of all I don’t really have exact measurements for all of this because it is the kind of activity that you just go with it.
1 - Take about 4-6 cap full of rubbing alcohol into one ziplock bag.
2 - Put a bunch of drops of food coloring in with the rubbing alcohol… I put a ton because I like bright colors.  So it is up to you how much you put in.
3 - Pour a bunch of rice into the bag. I filled it about ¾ of the way.
4 - Close the bag up and mix until all the rice is nice and colorful! You can add more alcohol and color if you need to, but mix really well!
5 - Pour the rice out on to a box lid with wax paper lined. Let air dry!
Repeat the process as many times you like. We made 5 different colors!!  Here are some pictures of Alohi and I making the rice!
