Back in OKC

Last week was another long week of traveling and getting settled in our home away from home. Our apartment complex is great and we didn't request the same apartment as last time in hopes to get closer to the entrance, a shaded exterior door so I don't burn my hand opening it in the heat, and softer carpet for Po'okela to crawl on. Guess what... we got a perfect one and will probably request it again. The only thing I don't care for is the loud washer and dryer, but at least I have one in the apartment so I can live with that.

We have settled into the apartment and have been visiting the pool daily.  Sometimes twice a day. Alohi is becoming a pro at swimming with a noodle. Po'okela likes his floaty seat until he twisted around in it and cause a crease to break. I got some duck tape and hope that will keep sealed.  We will find out late today.  Along with the swimming in the pool, we ride our tricycle all over the place while Po'o gets to ride in stroller.  We are keeping things easy this trip.

Here are a few things we like to do to pass the time so far!
Picture #1: Po'okela is learning to do lots of new things by himself. He loves to brush his teeth and his hair. He is learning to feed himself with a spoon and is getting pretty good with a little assistant of his hands and me.  However, don't give him a spoon if he is really really really hungry.  He gets too frustrated!
Picture #2&3: Spend Saturday at the Zoo.  We had a picnic lunch and saw lots of animals.  We even got to see Rex have a date with one of the girls. She wasn't too sure about it and took off running when he came out.  They warmed up to each other and had lunch. Then we splashed around in the water area to cool off!
Picture #4: And of course it isn't a trip to Oklahoma if we don't visit Memaw and Pepaw's house to have pizza.  Alohi got to do some indoor fishing.

Time is going by so quickly and we already have every weekend booked up with things going on at church, Po'okela's birthday party and family pictures.  So keeping things easy during the week is going to be key to a successful trip!

Also, thanks to Mom & Dad Kocher for the reminder that this has come too!! I've turned 30!! Nothing really has changed. Haven't had time to celebrate since we spend the day on the road.  Hoping to celebrate sometime next week!
