We started out the driving tour riding like this. Alohi got to get unbuckled during out 15 minute wait to pay. Po'okela was a happy guy because it was a very beginning of our day.
Then Po'okela got moved to this... And if you look carefully you can see my moms head behind mine. She rode in the trunk of the car to help cut down on the cost for this trip. Shh... don't tell!
Which turned into riding like this... Yes he is holding on the the window and you can see how close we got to the animals they had there!
Thankfully Alohi was good and didn't try to climb out the window like her brother.
I thought it was crazy how close we were to these wolves.
This picture can give you another perspective about how relaxed the animals were with us driving by.
Alohi was most excited to see reindeer, but was sad when Santa couldn't be found.
I am glad that they added the wire cage exterior for the mountain lions. But they weren't near as active. And this is the area where we were required to have our windows up, but that didn't stop some people from keeping them down. Glad we didn't have to witness any attacks.
Buffalo grazing.
But the highlight of the tour were the bears. Our windows were up during this part of the driving tour. Kids laughed and pointed because the bears were sitting beside the road waving their paws and then scratching themselves.
It was so neat to see their dens all over the place and we could see some of them sleeping.
At the very end of the tour, you could get out for baby land. Baby Land is an area where they keep all the baby animals. Most of the babies were sleeping, but not these guys. They ran, tackled, fought & climbed. I think at one point I counted 8 bears in one tree. They were very entertaining!
Bear Country, we look forward to our next trip to see all the happy animals!
