We are getting back into a routine of things. Tuesdays, I am busy with MOPS stuff and we don't get much done that day craft or school wise. I do try to do some kind of "school" lesson with Alohi Monday, Wednesday, Fridays and I have just added doing two crafts a week. Again... I try to get this stuff done and some days we do great (last week was a great week), this week we have gotten side track. So here are a few things we have been doing.
We did leaves projects. Po'o getting to paint with the different colors of the leaves and the following picture is Alohi do dots on a drawn tree to symbolize the leaves.
Po'o got to explore with new dot paints. He liked it, but also tasted it (he taste everything). I love how he explores every little thing we do and always wants to do what his sister is doing.
Also, we went on a nature walk to see the things we could find for a project. The kids collected leaves, acorns and pinecones. We then came home where we used their hand & arm to stamp a tree trunk with branches and then glued our nature items on it. Sorry I don't have a picture because Alohi wanted to share it with her library teachers. She then gave it to them and they have it posted up in the library. However, here is a picture from our nature hunt!
From leaves project, we went to pumpkins. I knew we were headed to pumpkin patches and other fall activities that would involve pumpkins. So we started learning and reading about them this last week. Here's just a couple of the projects we did.
This is just a cut out thing that looks like a pumpkin, but it has the stages of the pumpkin. I had Alohi stamp the order it comes in.
Of course you have to be able to paint a pumpkin.
Thanks to Pinterest, I found this knuckle stamping that comes out looking like a pumpkin. This is actually Po'okela's project. The stem is his thumb print. Alohi did the same thing as well, but you got to see her projects.
I have a few more pumpkin projects that we will be doing, as well as learning the letter P.
If you have any other ideas please share!!
